NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans is experiencing a continuing population decline, with roughly 360,000 residents currently living in the city. According to U.S. Census data, the city has lost about 20,000 people over the past five years.
Housing NOLA Executive Director Andreanecia Morris echoed the frustration felt by many New Orleanians who feel priced out of the market.
"We have people being pushed out because it's too expensive for people to operate homes as businesses to rent to people at any level, and it's too expensive to stay in their homes," Morris said.
