WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A work development clinic put on by Kansas Legal Services was held on Wednesday at the Guadalupe Clinic in Wichita. The goal was to help people with suspended licenses work toward reinstatement to get back on the road.
The event ran from noon to 7 p.m. Nearly 100 people had shown up within the first couple of hours.
“Kansas has about 200,000 residents that have suspended licenses and the reason why those licenses are suspended is because maybe they missed a court date, they maybe have unpaid fines or fees, in most cases it wasn’t because of an alcohol offense or they were in an accident” said Kansas Legal Services Executive Director Matthew Keenan.
Roughly 39,000 people in Sedgwick County have a suspended license.
