Thousands expected at MU for 'Columbia for Christ' event

COLUMBIA — An event by CoMo for Christ is expected to draw thousands Wednesday evening on the University of Missouri campus.

The meeting will include testimonies from MU students, faculty and MU Athletics Director Larid Veatch.

The CoMo for Christ website calls the event a night of unity and an opportunity for church members across Columbia to come together for networking and praise to the Lord.

Lance Tamerius, the Director of Christian Campus House, said the event has been planned for weeks and is not in reaction to recent political events.

"There is no event planned specifically to honor Charlie Kirk, though we would believe he is worthy of such an honor," Tamerius said. "The event ... has been scheduled for several weeks."
