A data center project in Van Wert has advanced with the sale of the 221-acre property to the developer.

Brent Stevens, executive director of the Van Wert Area Economic Development Corp., confirmed Wednesday that Thor Equities Group has closed on the site in the Ohio city's industrial park for an undisclosed sum.

The 1,475-acre Van Wert Mega Site is north of the city and adjacent to U.S. 30. Van Wert is 34 miles southeast of Fort Wayne.

Thor Equities, a New York-based global firm, identifies attractive sites, facilitates the transaction, advances development and oversees construction for clients, according to its website. Although Stevens knows which technology company is the client, he isn't yet allowed to make that information public.
