A suspect who was wanted by San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies was taken into custody Wednesday in the unincorporated East Valinda area Wednesday following a nearly three-hour standoff.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau personnel were called to the 18000 block of Galleano Street to assist deputies from San Bernardino County, according to the LASD. The suspect had been barricaded since 11:45 a.m., sheriff’s officials said.
The L.A. County sheriff’s Crisis Negotiation Team was also dispatched to make contact with the suspect and bring the standoff to a peaceful end.
Authorities did not immediately release details about why the suspect was wanted, and a temporary evacuation order was issued for the surrounding area.
