A plot to steal portable toilets from worksites has gone down the drain as police flushed out the alleged thief in a week-long investigation.
The investigation started after two portaloos were allegedly stolen from residential worksites in Melbourne's western suburbs on September 10.
The alleged "bog bandit", as police dubbed him, loaded the portaloos from Lanning Way, Deanside, on his trailer and left the area, investigators allege.
But, within the week, police were at the alleged thief's house on Marine Parade in Caroline Springs with a search warrant.
