LONGMONT — Wednesday’s Fox Hill Invitational offered a valuable opportunity for local golfers to get comfortable at the soon-to-be site of the Class 4A boys golf state championships.

With less than three weeks until state, Longmont’s Wyatt Bogue gained not only experience, but also confidence on a Fox Hill Club course he’s looking to master. The junior closed his day with a strong 1-under-par 69, finishing in a three-way tie for first place alongside Cheyenne Mountain’s Brayden Destefano and Grand Junction’s Hunter Simmons.

“The last time I played here, I didn’t play my best,” Bogue admitted. “To come back here and play a good round is reassuring for state.”
