Afternoon storms will continue across parts of New Mexico into the weekend. Heavy rain will be possible in parts of the state, especially Friday.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms have popped up today in southern, eastern, and central New Mexico. A couple of these storms are turning strong and severe in northeast parts of the state. Any storm is capable of heavy rain though. These storms will continue moving eastward into the evening, eventually ending overnight. High temperatures have again climbed back up to near and above average this afternoon for most places, with seasonable overnight low temperatures by Thursday morning. Fewer showers and storms are expected Thursday afternoon, but a couple could still drop heavy rain in southern and eastern parts of the state.
