PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island and Connecticut are seeking a preliminary injunction against a stop-work order that brought construction on Revolution Wind to a screeching halt last month.

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha and Connecticut Attorney General William Tong filed the motion Wednesday requesting permission for work to continue on the offshore wind farm, which is nearly 80% complete.

"We have no time to waste in getting Revolution Wind back online, which is why we’re asking the court to put a stop to this in short order," Neronha said in a statement. "We need relief now for the benefit of Rhode Island, its workers, and its residents — and time is of the essence."
