LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - After their week four win against Whitley County, South Laurel made history, recording the program’s first-ever 4-0 start.

“We’re excited about how the kids have played,” Cardinals Football Head Coach John Hines stated. “We’ve started off hot, and we just want to continue to get better.”

One of the Cardinals’ biggest contributor’s is senior quarterback Mason Griffin.

“I think we started of 2-8 my first year here,” said Griffin. “I left for a little bit, but I am so glad I came back. I’m so glad these boys took me back in cause we’re all best friends and we all have great team chemistry.”

In South Laurel’s 49-0 victory against the Colonels, Griffin threw for 332 yards and five touchdowns, connecting with three different receivers.
