TWIGGS COUNTY, Ga. — A controversial $5 billion data center project in Twiggs County that promises to double county tax revenue and create hundreds of jobs faces its first major test Thursday when commissioners vote on a crucial rezoning request.

Eagle Rock Partners held a public meeting on Wednesday to address mounting community concerns about the massive artificial intelligence data center planned for 291 acres on Adams Park Road.

The proposal has sharply divided the rural county between those seeking economic growth and residents worried about environmental impact.

"This is a $5 to $6 billion investment," said Ken Loeber, founding partner of Eagle Rock Partners. "It roughly doubles the tax revenue of the county."
