RAPID CITY, S.D. (KELO) -- We're in the middle of Diaper Awareness Week, and for the 9th year in a row, Rapid City is holding a community drive to help out.
From birth through the potty training years, children go through 7,000 diapers on average.
"We've got families who can't afford to get diapers, or they can't get transportation to get diapers, and that's really where Mommy's Closet steps in. We try to act as a stopgap so when families can't make it that day, we can get them some diapers," Rapid City Services Director Sarah Howard said
This drive helps on economic, emotional and public health levels.
