This is not justice for a grieving family.

Craig MacDonald’s relatives burst into tears as his killer was sentenced to just nine years in prison — and with credit for pre-sentence custody, Abilaziz Mohamed has only 3.9 years left to serve.

“This is exactly why Toronto is the way it is right now, it’s exactly why children are being shot in their mother’s arms. There’s not enough consequence,” his distraught sister, Drema MacDonald, said outside the courtroom.

“You know the animals who are carrying around guns right now, your life means very little to them and shockingly, our lives mean very little to the justice system, too. That’s what I’ve learned through this. It’s like watching a bad accident in slow motion.”

They feel crushed by the criminal justice system over and over again.
