GARDENDALE, Ala. —
Magnolia Ridge nursing home is a 148-bed skilled nursing facility offering post-hospital, short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term and respite care services. At 11:59 p.m. Monday, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) stripped it of its certification.
Without the certification, the facility cannot accept Medicare, forcing some residents to move facilities and potentially forcing Magnolia Ridge to close.
WVTM 13 spoke with a resident inside the facility who requested to remain anonymous. They believe closing the nursing home would be detrimental to the community.
