Lafayette City Council to consider second annexation for proposed development on Arapahoe Road

At a City Council meeting Tuesday evening, Lafayette city staff presented the second of two annexation requests for The Range at Lafayette, a proposed development at the southwest corner of Arapahoe Road and U.S. 287.

To “annex” land means to bring it into the city’s boundaries, placing it under Lafayette’s rules.

The Lafayette City Council held a vote at the meeting, but the unanimous ayes did not determine a final action on the annexation. Instead, the vote affirmed that the annexation request was submitted in the proper format required by state law. The council was then able to set an eligibility hearing date for late October, where it will determine whether the property is eligible for annexation under state law.
