It's time to start the music; it's time to light the lights. It's time to meet the Muppets on The Muppet Show tonight...again! Jim Henson's venerable gang of creations is coming back in a new special reviving their popular variety show. And they won't be alone: pop super-sensation Sabrina Carpenter is their special guest host. According to reports , Seth Rogen and his Point Grey Productions shingle are reviving the series as a special for the Disney+ streaming service.

Although it is being produced as a one-off, the hope is that it will serve as a stealth pilot for an ongoing revival of the series, which saw a different celebrity guest engage in antics with the Muppets every week. The special will debut on the streaming service in 2026, which will mark the 50th anniversary
