DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - The City of Davenport is looking to bring in an interim city administrator while they search for current city administrator Doug Maxeiner’s replacement.

In July, Maxeiner said he was resigning because of significant health issues. His last day will be Oct. 1.

Council agreed they’re moving forward with plans to appoint Nicole Gleason to acting city administrator effective Oct. 1 until Nov. 3, when the chosen interim city administrator is appointed.

Council is set to approve Nicole Gleason’s appointment at next week’s regular city council meeting.

Additionally, Davenport is looking at brining in Tim Gleason as interim city administrator for a six month term, expiring on May 3, 2026, with an option to renew the agreement for additional time if necessary, accor
