LANCASTER, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Students and teachers at Lancaster County Schools are beginning to see new security measures this fall.
The district said that it began utilizing the EVOLV weapons detection system Sept.12 in middle and high schools. EVOLV was purchased with grant funding and capital improvement funds.
Further, Centegix Crisis Alert Badges will be worn by all staff members and will be rolled out at the end of September. District officials said the badges provide an added layer of protection, ensuring quick communication in case of an emergency and helping to keep schools safe. The badges were approved as a capital improvement project in 2024.
