Alcoa Australia has increased its funding for Foodbank WA’s Peel Branch to $600,000 over three years to bring vital food relief to thousands of families across Pinjarra, Serpentine-Jarrahdale, Harvey, Waroona and Kwinana.

This renewed partnership boosts Alcoa’s funding from $150,000 to $200,000 per year and will go toward a new mobile Foodbank vehicle.

The mobile Foodbank allows for a broader range of food products to be distributed, responding to a growing demand for food assistance in the region.

Since the partnership began in July 2022, the Peel Foodbank has delivered more than 2.6 million meals — nearly one million in the past year alone, marking a 53 per cent increase.
