Pensioners across the country could be eligible for an income boost of more than £560 a year from next April. Due to the government's current commitment to the State Pension triple lock, this increase could be related to new economic figures.

Under the triple lock, the State Pension rises each April in line with either the previous September's inflation, wage growth, or 2.5% - whichever figure is the highest.

According to latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), wage growth has dropped to 4.7%. September's inflation figures are not expected to overtake this, with August's inflation only hitting 3.8%.
