PASCO, Wash. – Pasco School District #1 is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring Dr. Ellen Ochoa, the first Latina woman to travel to space, with a new Barbie Inspiring Women doll.
Dr. Ochoa’s legacy is well-known in Pasco, as Ellen Ochoa Middle School is named after her. Her journey from engineer to astronaut has made history and shown girls everywhere that they belong in STEM fields.
The special edition Barbie doll celebrates Dr. Ochoa’s trailblazing achievements and aims to inspire the next generation to reach for the stars.
