GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Companies and ECU Career Development staff were hard at work helping students perfect their resumes on Wednesday to raise their chances of getting hired.
It’s much needed after the number of Americans filing for jobless benefits hit 263,000 the first week in September , according to the U.S. Department of Labor, the highest number in nearly 4 years. ECU Career Development says your resume is crucial to landing a job.
“Your resume is a selling document,” said Career Development Assistant Director Suzanne Vinson. “You’re selling yourself to the employer on why you’re the best candidate for that position, so it’s very important to make sure that it’s in the perfect shape in order to get to the next phase in the hiring process.”
