JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) - The man who was charged with killed a beloved wildlife educator and a 19-year-old in Jackson was found guilty on two counts of first-degree murder, according to the Hinds County District Attorney's Office.

Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens said Jamario Bell, 35, was convicted of killing Percy "Snake Man" King, 57, and Jarvis Birtfield, 19.

On January 12, 2018, Jackson police responded to a shooting at King's home on Scott Street in Jackson. When they arrived, officers discovered King lying in the front yard of his home with multiple gunshot wounds. Nearby, Birtfield was found on the street with a gunshot wound to his head.

According to Owens, an off-duty Hinds County deputy and a neighbor witnessed the shooting at King's home. The deputy detained Bell at
