The Coweta County Board of Commissioners set a new public hearing for the county's data center ordinance.
At its Tuesday night meeting, the board set the next public hearing for Nov. 18.
The board will review the next draft of the ordinance at its Oct. 16 work session. According to Cathy Wickey, the county's communications manager, following the work session, county staff will send a revised version of the ordinance to the board for review.
In April, the commissioners approved the rezoning of property near Palmetto for a data center campus. Property near Sargent will eventually seek rezoning for Project Sail, an 832-acre data center.
In May, the commissioners placed a 180-day moratorium on data center development in the county, so an ordinance could be drafted. The moratorium will expi
