Two Coweta County residents are seeking a county wide noise ordinance.
During the public comment portion of the Coweta County Board of Commissioners' Tuesday night meeting, District 1 residents Jerry White and Kelly Callahan told the board a noise ordinance was necessary for quality of life in the county.
According to White, noise interferes with sleep, children's learning, elderly residents and property values in the county.
"Many counties hold reasonable ordinances that deal with this," White said. "Of the 27 counties that have greater than 100,000 residents, Coweta County is the only one without a county-wide noise ordinance. Other counties use civil, common-sense language.
