EDWARDS, Ill. (WMBD) -- A new charity event supporting cancer research is coming to Central Illinois.

On Sept. 18, Haven On The Farm will host the First Ever Pink Boots and Country Roots charity concert in Edwards, Illinois

The event is the brainchild of Lindsey Swischuck, a breast cancer survivor and healthcare provider working with cancer patients.

It took a lot of work and with help from OSF Healthcare Cancer Institute, to put on this event. Putting this event together is Lindsey's way of fundraising, spreading awareness and giving back to healthcare professionals.

"I really wanted to do something to give back to patients going through the same thing. You know, everybody's journey through cancer looks different and people have different struggles," Swischuck said.
