BELLEVILLE, Wis. (WKOW) -- People gathered in Belleville on Thursday to honor Constitution Day.
Organizers emphasized that many voters fall in the middle of the political spectrum, which includes key voters who can decide elections.
United Wisconsin supports re-legalizing fusion voting, which would allow them to nominate whichever leading candidate reflects the values of their centrist coalition. That candidate would appear on the ballot twice - once for their party, and once for United Wisconsin. Their total vote count would include the ticks from both boxes.
"And I think what's missing is solutions, and fusion voting is something that we believe is a solution that we ought to reinvent in Wisconsin," said Dale Schultz, former Wisconsin Senate majority leader.
