CINCINNATI, Ohio — With starter Joe Burrow on injured reserve (turf toe), the Bengals are turning to Jake Browning at quarterback for the foreseeable future.

Sunday’s game in Minnesota will be his eighth career start. He also followed an unusual path to his role in Cincinnati, going from an undrafted player to being on the practice squad.

Through it all, Browning credits one thing to his longevity in the NFL.

“If I didn’t have some delusional confidence in myself, then I probably would have been toast a long time ago,” Browning admitted with refreshing candor when speaking to reporters on Wednesday.
