A young man who died in a suspected gas leak at a Sydney restaurant has been identified as Nepali student Shiva Khatri.
Emergency services were called to Haveli Indian restaurant on Garfield Road, Riverstone, on Tuesday morning where the 25-year-old was discovered unconscious.
Despite desperate efforts to revive him, he died at the scene.
Six others, including five police officers and a member of the public, were taken to hospital after being overcome by fumes. NSW Police confirmed on Wednesday all those affected had since been discharged.
Assistant Commissioner Gavin Wood said officers had tried to save the young man but were themselves exposed to the toxic air.
