BOISE, Idaho — A small plane crashed into power lines shortly after takeoff Wednesday morning near Rigby Airport, causing a widespread power outage and minor injuries to two pilots.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office received multiple 911 calls reporting an airplane crash at 198 N. Yellowstone, according to the Rigby Police Department.
Police said the 1966 Cessna 150F had just taken off from Rigby Airport when it was unable to gain enough altitude to clear Rocky Mountain Power lines approximately half a mile north of the airport, officials said.
"The plane becomes tangled in the lines; the left landing gear broke free sending the plane onto the parking lot of the old Intermountain Auto Wrecking building. Minor damage occurred to the unoccupied building," the Rigby Police Department w
