BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Rock Climber Jackie Stewart will represent Birmingham in Seoul, South Korea this weekend.

Stewart deals with spastic hemiplegia cerebral palsy, making it difficult for her to grip with her left hand or find strength with her left foot. She says her success as a rock climber has increased her overall confidence in a major way.

“I let other people’s words get to me. I wasn’t motivated at all. I didn’t think I’d be able to do anything like that,” said Stewart.

Stewart proved any and all doubters wrong when she made the USA Para Climbing team. With less than two years of experience under her belt, Stewart has already secured a second place finish at a World Cup event in Austria.
