SANFORD, Fla. – A man who claimed self-defense after a lethal shooting earlier this year has now been arrested, according to the Sanford Police Department.

In a release, police said that the incident happened back in June, when 21-year-old Christopher Houston arrived at HCA Lake Monroe while suffering from gunshot wounds.

From there, investigators said they learned that the shooting had taken place in the area of 12th Street and Pecan Avenue, police added.

Shortly afterward, though, 32-year-old Jocquise Jarrells contacted the police department, claiming that he’d shot Houston in self-defense, the release states.
