AKRON, Ohio (WJW) - An Akron police officer faced off in some friendly competition when he raced a resident in the street over the weekend.
Iyana Nelson, of Akron, said was enjoying a night out in Highland Square on Saturday when she struck up a conversation with a few Akron police officers patrolling the area.
"I went over to them to see how their night was going," Nelson said. "I seen (Officer) Film off to the side and I ask him why he decided to be a cop and if he loved his job."
During the conversation, Nelson asked the officer if he wanted to race her.
"I decided to take my shoes off. He said, 'you sure you want to take your shoes off?' I said, 'yes sir,' then took off," Nelson said.
