Arizona cuts kids' disability services as costs surge 3,000% since pandemic

The massive cuts to state services for children with disabilities come as Division of Developmental Disabilities spending for kids has skyrocketed. Since the COVID-19 pandemic to this summer, spending for attendant care for kids under 18 has grown by 1,763%. DDD is cutting attendant care for ages 0-9. Spending for that age group has soared by 3,070%. In the other area seeing cuts (new restrictions by age), habilitation hourly spending has grown by 390%.
