OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - How low can a thief go is a question an Omaha widower is asking after discovering repeated thefts from his late wife’s grave marker.
Near 77th and Center Streets, during the 57 years of marriage, Phil Bruning bought his wife Mary fresh flowers every day, and he hasn’t stopped since her passing in December.
“Roses and daisies,” Bruning said.
But nine times, he found the small bouquet missing after binding the stems with wire, so he suspected theft.
“It’s just sad that someone would take someone’s flowers off of someone’s grave, I just don’t know why she did it, and what she did with them is beyond me.”
He knows it’s a she, because he has photos of a woman taking the fresh flowers from his late wife’s marker but installing a trailcam.
