The Baltimore City Council is convening on Wednesday to review the City’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and Single Audit for Fiscal Year 2024, once again raising concerns about persistent delays and financial management issues.

Council President Zeke Cohen noted that for the past five years, Baltimore has repeatedly failed to meet state and federal filing deadlines for these critical reports. He warned that such delays hinder the Council’s ability to fully understand and oversee the city’s financial health.

“This report gives us a clear picture of the financial health of Baltimore,” Cohen said, pointing to problems with timely payroll and broader fiscal accountability.
