SEATTLE — A 26-year-old man has died after he was shot in the neck while driving in Capitol Hill on Wednesday night, according to the Seattle Police Department (SPD).
Seattle police responded to the scene near 10th Avenue and East Pike Street, said Detective Brian Pritchard, public information officer for SPD. When the driver was shot, his foot came off the gas and his car drove another 60 feet before coming to a stop just north of Pike Street.
Witnesses helped the driver until medics and firefighters arrived on scene.
The driver was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. He later died from his injuries, police said.
Police do not have suspect information and it's unclear what led up to the shooting.
