Roosters star Victor Radley has been handed a 10-game suspension and $30,000 fine after he was implicated in a Queensland Police investigation that led to former teammate Brandon Smith facing a drug supply charge .
Radley has accepted the sanction – the largest handed down in club history – after fronting the Roosters board on Thursday.
This masthead revealed a text message exchange involving Radley that was to be presented in the prosecution’s case against Smith, who fronted Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday, with his lawyer indicating the charges will be contested.
Radley was not charged but has accepted his punishment and expressed remorse over his actions. He is not considered a person of interest by Queensland Police and there is no suggestion of wrongdoing by the England
