Levy County commissioners have approved a three-year contract with firefighters.

It reduces the average workweek for crews from 56 hours to 42.
The schedule change is not mandated by the state, but does fall in line with Florida’s House bill 929 that went into effect in July. That law expands protections for firefighters.
