A 44-year-old man has faced court over an alleged murder in Western Australia's Midwest.
Detectives from the homicide squad were called to Northampton, 470 kilometres north of Perth, on Monday after a 69-year-old man died at a home in the town.
They charged Ry Jacob Nairn, 44, with murder on Thursday morning.
He appeared before Geraldton Magistrates Court later that day.
Police will allege an incident leading to the 69-year-old's death occurred sometime between September 14 and 15.
In court, Mr Nairn spoke only to confirm his name and stated he understood the charge.
Police and paramedics were called to the Hampton Road property on Monday.
The 69-year-old man was declared dead at the scene.
Detectives and forensics officers spent hours investigating the scene on Tuesday.
