PISCATAWAY – The status of Rutgers football’s star wide receiver Ian Strong is still unclear for the team’s Big Ten opener against Iowa as he tries to work his way back from an injury .

For a second-straight week, Ben Black would likely step into Strong’s role as a starter for the 8 p.m. contest (FOX) against the Hawkeyes at SHI Stadium.

Black made his first collegiate start Sept. 13 against Norfolk State, and had three catches for 56 yards and one touchdown.
