Well, this is a rarity.

For the first time in a long time, all four Cheboygan-area high school football teams will be competing on the road in the same week.

As we head into the second third of the campaign, let’s preview each team’s contest .

Cheboygan (1-2) at Elk Rapids (1-2), Friday, 7 p.m.

After two difficult setbacks, this might be the get-right game for the Chiefs, who are having trouble generating consistency on both sides of the ball, as well as committing way too many penalties, which have constantly been a thorn in their side.

Like Cheboygan, the Elks are 1-2, but for an entire half in last season’s matchup in Cheboygan, Elk Rapids gave the home team all they could handle, building a 23-0 lead before a remarkable second-half comeback by the Chiefs.
