When Bill Pulte, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, sent a letter last month urging the Justice Department to criminally investigate Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, he claimed to be acting in defense of public integrity. Instead, he revealed his own lack of it. The episode exposes a pattern of double standards, political opportunism and personal favoritism so blatant that Pulte can no longer credibly serve in public office.
