OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - One person is injured after a crash that caused backups on Interstate 80 in Omaha on Wednesday morning.

According to a release from the Omaha Police Department, officers got to the scene on I-80 near 84th Street just after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

After initial investigation, officers found a driver in a 2011 Nissan Sentra was going northbound on 84th Street when the car went off the road.

The car went up a grass embankment, causing it to go airborne before landing on I-80. The car then collided with an eastbound GMC Acadia.

The person in the Nissan went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

OPD is investigating.
