INDIAN RIVER — Alliances get formed all the time in sports, but this one is quite literal.

Fourteen northern Michigan and Upper Peninsula schools are coming to together to form the Bridge Alliance Football Conference — seven each from above and below the Mackinac Bridge. The new league starts play next fall, with schedules already set for two seasons.
