We're only two weeks into the 2025 NFL season, and already, several teams are starting to emerge as clear Super Bowl contenders.
The Green Bay Packers have a pair of wins over playoff teams from a year ago as it seems the Micah Parsons addition may have provided the missing piece for this team, while the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens, who squared off in Week 1, rolled against divisional opponents in Week 2.
As we turn our attention to Week 3, however, we're going to start to learn which 2-0 teams are fraudulent, which 0-2 teams have just had some bad luck and everything in between. There's another full slate of fantastic NFL games this weekend, and our experts are back to give you their picks against the spread for Week 3
Name | Week 2 Record | 2025 Record |
Prince Grimes | 11-5 | 16-15-1 |
Charles Curtis | 8-8 | 15-16-1 |
Cory Woodroof | 9-7 | 14-17-1 |
Robert Zeglinski | 10-6 | 17-14-1 |
Christian D'Andrea | 6-10 | 11-20-1 |
Tyler Nettuno | 11-5 | 21-10-1 |
Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills
Opening Line: Bills -8.5
Grimes: Bills -12.5
Have a day Josh Allen.
Curtis: Bills -12.5
Nice to see the Fins rebound a bit, but the Bills might put up 40 points on Thursday.
Woodroof: Bills -12.5
I don't trust Miami right now.
Zeglinski: Bills -12.5
Everyone in Miami thinks Mike McDaniel is getting fired. Even Mike McDaniel. Everyone in Miami wants Mike McDaniel to get fired. Even Mike McDaniel. I'm so sorry, Dolphins fans.
D'Andrea: Bills -12.5
Oof. Big oof. Bigger than Bills-Jets oof.
Nettuno: Bills -12.5
The Dolphins may be the worst team in the league.
Green Bay Packers at Cleveland Browns
Opening Line: Packers -6.5
Grimes: Packers -8
The Pack are as real as any team in the NFC.
Curtis: Packers -8
Green Bay looks legit, the Browns do not.
Woodroof: Packers -8
When does Cleveland go to Dillon Gabriel?
Zeglinski: Packers -8
Green Bay is the No. 1 team in offensive and defensive DVOA. What a cupcake game for mid-September.
D'Andrea: Packers -8
Good news: the Browns held the Ravens to fewer than 250 yards of offense. Bad news: they still lost 41-17.
Nettuno: Packers -8
Green Bay looks like a Super Bowl contender through two weeks.
Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars
Opening Line: Texans -1.5
Grimes: Texans +1
This is where Houston gets win No. 1.
Curtis: Texans +1.5
A really tough game to figure out, so I'll take the points and assume the Texans' defense steps up.
Woodroof: Texans +1.5
The Texans will figure it out this week.
Zeglinski: Texans +1.5
Something's wrong with C.J. Stroud (his offensive line can't block). But hoo boy can the Texans bully opposing quarterbacks. It's time for Houston to finally get in the win column.
D'Andrea: Texans +1.5
Houston's gotta get right sometime. The Jaguars are pretty much always up for that.
Nettuno: Jaguars -1
I can't believe I'm picking Jacksonville again.
Cincinnati Bengals at Minnesota Vikings
Opening Line: Vikings -1.5
Grimes: Bengals +3
Wouldn't be surprised to see Minny get the win, but I'm not laying a field goal with Carson Wentz.
Curtis: Bengals +3
Stop sleeping on Jake Browning. Dude is going to throw a lot to all those incredible weapons in Cincy and will win this game.
Woodroof: Bengals +3
This will go down to the wire, but we like Cincy to pull off the upset.
Zeglinski: Bengals +3
Please do anything else with your Sunday rather than watch Jake Browning vs. Carson Wentz.
D'Andrea: Bengals +3
Carson Wentz? We're laying points with CARSON WENTZ? IN 2025???
Nettuno: Bengals +3
I think Cincinnati could win this game with Jake Browning at the helm.
Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers
Opening Line: Panthers -1.5
Grimes: Panthers +6
Carolina isn't good, but they tend to keep things close.
Curtis: Falcons -6
I love what I've seen out of Atlanta's performance on both sides of the ball. I can't bet on Bryce Young to cover even though I'm tempted.
Woodroof: Falcons -6
Atlanta can run the ball and play good defense. That works on the road.
Zeglinski: Falcons -6
The Panthers are percolating, but Atlanta is farther along in its rebuild with a young defense. I have no reason, based on precedent, to trust it less than Carolina.
D'Andrea: Panthers +6
Divisional game and a significant home underdog. Take the points.
Nettuno: Panthers +6
I'm not sure Carolina wins, but I think it will keep things close.
Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots
Opening Line: Patriots -1.5
Grimes: Steelers -1.5
Bounce back game for Pitt.
Curtis: Patriots +1.5
I... guess so? I have no idea what to do here.
Woodroof: Steelers -1.5
Drake Maye is doing well... but most of the rest of New England isn't as strong.
Zeglinski: Patriots +1.5
We are approximately 2-3 weeks away from people in Pittsburgh turning on Aaron Rodgers. What a shocker.
D'Andrea: Patriots +1.5
If Christian Gonzalez is back, that's brutal for Aaron Rodgers. Even if he isn't, New England has a top six pressure rate -- and we saw what the Seahawks' No. 1 pass rush did to a 41-year-old lunatic last week.
Nettuno: Steelers -1.5
Holding on to beat Miami doesn't give me a ton of confidence in the Patriots.
Los Angeles Rams at Philadelphia Eagles
Opening Line: Eagles -4.5
Grimes: Rams +3.5
Eagles win, but Rams cover.
Curtis: Eagles -3.5
The Rams might be able to keep up for three quarters, but the Eagles will pull away late.
Woodroof: Eagles -3.5
Philly 3-0.
Zeglinski: Rams +3.5
There's an element of vengeance here after the Eagles swept the L.A. in two meetings last season, including a playoff ouster. I also think Philly's offense is a little more concerning compared to how dynamic the Rams can be with Davante Adams.
D'Andrea: Eagles -3.5
Matthew Stafford looks nice out there, but this line suggests these teams are only 0.5 points apart on a neutral field. Disagree.
Nettuno: Eagles -3.5
Philly will prove it's still the class of the NFC.
Las Vegas Raiders at Washington Commanders
Opening Line: Commanders -7.5
Grimes: Raiders +3.5
This is assuming Jayden Daniels won't play. I think Pete Carroll's squad bounces back.
Curtis: Commanders -3.5
Even if Marcus Mariota starts, I don't foresee the Raiders covering on the East Coast.
Woodroof: Raiders +3.5
Geno Smith needs a rebound game.
Zeglinski: Raiders +3.5
These are basically the same teams, albeit from different conferences, right? I will not elaborate any further.
D'Andrea: Raiders +3.5
Geno Smith gets his bounce-back game against an iffy secondary and the league's top run defense puts the pressure on a passing game that will either be led by a backup or a QB1 who's at less than 100 percent.
Nettuno: Commanders -3.5
Are we going to get another Geno Smith meltdown game?
New York Jets at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Opening Line: Buccaneers -7.5
Grimes: Bucs -7
As it turns out, the Jets are still the Jets.
Curtis: Buccaneers -7
Me back Tyrod Taylor to cover? Surely you J-E-S-T JEST JEST JEST!
Woodroof: Buccaneers -7
The Bucs are clutch. The Jets are not.
Zeglinski: Buccaneers -7
Baker Mayfield is a GAMER and the Bucs are a legit NFC contender. I worry about the loss of Calijah Kancey long-term, but that won't affect Tampa Bay much against the Jets.
D'Andrea: Bucs -7
Tampa Bay has become the Seahawks in that it cannot play a normal game. But the Jets are the Jets.
Nettuno: Buccaneers -7
I think Tampa Bay is capital G Good.
Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans
Opening Line: Titans -1.5
Grimes: Colts -3.5
I can't believe what I'm seeing from the Colts.
Curtis: Colts -3.5
Indiana Jones, 3-0? What a wild start to the season.
Woodroof: Colts -3.5
Who saw Indy coming?
Zeglinski: Colts -3.5
The Colts are legit (somewhat) and Cam Ward is still learning how to survive the NFL. This should be a layup.
D'Andrea: Colts -3.5
Look the wheels will come off for Daniel Jones at some point, but it's not gonna be in Nashville.
Nettuno: Colts -3.5
I guess Daniel Jones is elite now?
New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks
Opening Line: Seahawks -6.5
Grimes: Seahawks -7.5
Seattle's defense will give the Saints offense hell.
Curtis: Seahawks -7.5
The Saints will struggle a ton in Seattle.
Woodroof: Seahawks -7.5
The Saints are better than expected, but playing in Seattle won't be easy.
Zeglinski: Seahawks -7.5
Are the Saints the worst team in pro football? Or, at the very least, perhaps the least talented? I'm seriously considering it.
D'Andrea: Seahawks -7.5
The Saints keep hanging tight and keep not covering. Anyway, here's one of the league's top defenses for Spencer Rattler.
Nettuno: Seahawks -7.5
The Saints will have to keep waiting for their first win of the season.
Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Chargers
Opening Line: Chargers -1.5
Grimes: Chargers -3
I just think the Chargers are a better team.
Curtis: Chargers -3
Haven't loved what I've seen out of the Broncos, so I'll lean toward early MVP candidate Justin Herbert.
Woodroof: Chargers -3
The Broncos worry me a bit right now.
Zeglinski: Broncos +3
The Broncos' defense remains too good to fade even if Bo Nix has been somewhat disappointing to start the year.
D'Andrea: Chargers -3
Hoooo buddy did you see what the Chargers defense did to Geno Smith? And now Bo Nix has to deal with that [expletive]??
Nettuno: Chargers -3
Denver may be the most disappointing team in the league so far, and the Chargers are rolling.
Dallas Cowboys at Chicago Bears
Opening Line: Bears -3
Grimes: Cowboys +1
I'm honestly surprised the Bears are even favored.
Curtis: Cowboys +1
A coin flip, and given what we've seen Caleb Williams do so far, I can't put my money behind him. But I think he and the Bears will be on the rise later in the year.
Woodroof: Cowboys +1
This Dallas offense is no joke.
Zeglinski: Bears -1
If the Bears lose to Matt Eberflus at home, Chicago fans will show up with pitchforks and torches at Halas Hall.
D'Andrea: Bears -1
Who can let down their fans harder? The answer is usually the Bears, but...
Nettuno: Cowboys +1
Yeah, I'll take Dak in a quarterback battle against Caleb Williams.
Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers
Opening Line: 49ers -3.5
Grimes: Cardinals +1.5
Mac Jones won't look nearly as good as he did last week.
Curtis: 49ers -1.5
Kyle Shanahan keeps proving whoever is at QB for the Niners truly doesn't matter.
Woodroof: Cardinals +1.5
Mac Jones magic might be in limited supply this week against a better opponent.
Zeglinski: Cardinals +1.5
The Cardinals are a better team even if Marvin Harrison Jr. might be the new Kyle Pitts.
D'Andrea: 49ers -1.5
The Cardinals defense has improved, but has had one hell of a time stopping Christian McCaffrey in Santa Clara.
Nettuno: 49ers -1.5
In Mac Jones we trust.
Kansas City Chiefs at New York Giants (Sunday Night Football)
Opening Line: Chiefs -6.5
Grimes: Giants +6.5
The Giants won't win, but their defense has something to prove.
Curtis: Chiefs -6.5
There is the possibility of a Giants backdoor cover, but I doubt it.
Woodroof: Chiefs -6.5
Do any of us really think K.C. goes 0-3?
Zeglinski: Chiefs -6.5
Is this game literally only in primetime because PATRICK MAHOMES and NEW YORK? How shameless.
D'Andrea: Chiefs -6.5
Kansas City's got a lot of frustrations to take out.
Nettuno: Chiefs -6.5
What a putrid Sunday Night Football game. I don't think Russell Wilson is replicating a 450-yard game against this defense.
Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens (Monday Night Football)
Opening Line: Ravens -3.5
Grimes: Ravens -5
The better team proves it.
Curtis: Ravens -5
They're just that good, and I don't know what to think about the Lions right now.
Woodroof: Ravens -5
The Lions roared back last week, but playing in Baltimore will be humbling.
Zeglinski: Ravens -5
The Lions are fine and remain strong Super Bowl contenders, but the Ravens are a bad matchup for them ... mostly because of Lamar Jackson.
D'Andrea: Lions +5
Feels like the Ravens are in a place where they'll keep the games against actual contenders close. Probably for stupid reasons.
Nettuno: Ravens -5
The Lions still need to prove they're not the team that got embarrassed by Green Bay in Week 1.
