WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Wake Forest University announced Wednesday that beginning with the fall 2026 semester, admitted undergraduates from North Carolina with family incomes under $200,000 will attend tuition-free.

Students from families earning less than $100,000 will also receive aid covering standard living expenses in addition to full tuition. Those with family incomes between $200,000 and $300,000 will be eligible for financial aid covering half of tuition.

The program, called the North Carolina Gateway to Wake Forest University, is designed to expand access for talented students across the state regardless of financial background, the university said.
