TERRELL, Texas — A man was struck and killed by a train on Wednesday morning in Terrell, according to police.
The Terrell Police Department (TPD) said they received a report from Union Pacific Railroad at approximately 5:19 a.m. Wednesday that a train had struck a person on the tracks. The train came to a stop in the area of Gardner Street, police said.
Officers who responded to the scene found a man, identified as 41-year-old James Earl Davis III, of Terrell. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Several railroad crossings were temporarily affected, police said, but later reopened. The crash is under investigation by the Terrell Police Department in coordination with Union Pacific Railroad.
