LA PLACE, Ill. (WAND) — A driver who was killed in a crash on Illinois Route 32 south of La Place Wednesday has been identified.

The person who was killed was identified as Michael B. Griffith, 63, of Mt. Zion.

The crash happened at the intersection of IL 32 and US Route 36 around 10:45 a.m.

Illinois State Police said a semi-truck pulled into the intersection driving on IL 32 when it's trailer was hit by a semi going down US 36.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital, where Griffith died.

The intersection was closed until around 4:30 p.m.
