ATLANTA — Hyundai said Thursday it will continue expanding in Georgia , with $2.7 billion in investment planned across the next three years and 3,000 additional jobs they expect created at the metaplant site that was the subject of an ICE raid this month.
A release by Hyundai said the investment in Georgia is part of a plan already announced in August, but signals that the immigration raid that included the detention and deportation of more than 300 South Koreans evidently will not deter their operations at the Bryan County site.
“Congratulations to @HMGnewsroom on this announcement that reinforces their commitment to this project and our state. We look forward to working with them on their continued growth and success for years to come!” Gov. Brian Kemp said on X .
